Gypenoside XLIX is a dammaranoid glycoside that is the main component of G. entaphyllum. Gypenoside XLIX is a selective peroxisome proliferator activating receptor (PPAR) -alpha activator that inhibits the overexpression and overactivity of cytokine-induced vascular cell adhesion molecule 1(VCAM-1) in human endothelial cells.

Gypenoside XLIX is a natural product isolated from Gynostemma plant extract.
