L-Citrulline is an L-alpha-amino acid originally found in watermelon juice, but not in protein. It is an intermediate product of the urea cycle of amino acid metabolism in animals. L-citrulline is a non-protein amino acid, colorless columnar crystal, soluble in water, insoluble in methanol and ethanol.
