Celeroxib, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. It is clinically suitable for the treatment of acute, chronic osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
